At Scares That Care in 2016, author John Urbancik (of InkStains podcast) had the brilliant idea of going old school and putting together a black & white copy machine-printed side-stapled zine like we used to have in the 80’s and 90’s. The place where a lot of us authors got our start.Â
It was 24 pages and had 6 author stories in it. Yvonne Navarro, John Urbancik, Kelli Owen, Bryan Smith, Brian Keene and Armand Rosamilia donated short stories to it and they sold exclusively at Scares That Care all weekend for $2 apiece.Â
For 2017 Armand Rosamilia has taken over the Zine. Imaginatively named Zine 2, this year’s version will be huge. How huge?
You can expect stories from Jay Wilburn, Bryan Smith, Damien Angelica Walters, Mary SanGiovanni, Ronald Malfi, Chet Williamson, Jonathan Janz, Wrath James White, Paul Tremblay, John Skipp and Joe R. Lansdale. Eleven brilliant authors in one spot and it will still only be $2!Â
Every cent of the money collected will be donated directly to Scares That Care again.Â
Only 250 copies will be printed. Only available at Scares That Care Charity Weekend.
We’ll also be running 5 pages of ads in this as well, and (again) all of this money goes directly to Scares That Care.Â
Want to get in on the advertising of this super-limited zine?Â
1/4 page ad (black & white, print-ready) is $25
1/2 page ad is $50
full-page ad is $100.Â
We already have 2 pages filled, so get involved asap and help the cause! Contact Armand Rosamilia at armandrosamilia (at) gmail (dot) com with SCARES ZINE in the subject line so you don’t miss out. With these ads and sales we’ll be able to donate $1,000 to Scares That Care!
This is going to be epic!
